Where to Measure to Pick Out Correct Size Solera Slide Topper

Question:

I have 18 forest river rockwood with 3 slides kitchen, living room and bedroom I am less than happy with the dealership as I cannot get a straight answer. Before I spend big bucks are these toppers a bigger problem in winds than the protection provided??? I have 50,000 dollars investment and a few dollars is no big deal. Today I went to dealership to ask about measuring it’s a 50 mile drive I didn’t take the trailer. I was handed a rv catalogue and told to pick what I needed and be sure I was correct as I would have to pay even if I was wrong. I asked for help to what I was to measure- I was told it’s lunch time come back tomorrow as I would need appointment!!! I believe the rock wood has the rails and is this what I measure ??? I am sure I can find someone to install!

Measuring to pick out the correct slide topper for an RV like your 2018 Forest River Rockwood is pretty easy. You have to measure the box width including the flange on it and you'll be set. So the Solera part # LCV000163288 that you referenced is for box widths between 86 and 91-3/4 inches.

If you can get me the box widths of all three of your slide outs I'd be happy to help you find the correct fits.

I have a 2021 Forest River Salem FSX 178BHSKX which came with the "pre-installed hardware" for the Solera SlideTopper. The Slide measures 89 1/4" Flange to Flange. The Flange is 2 3/4" wide on each side. I believe based on the 89 1/4" I need the V000168106. (Solera Black Slide Topper Awning - 7'6" (7'1" Fabric)). Is this correct?

The Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000168106 is correct for your 89-1/4" flange to flange measurement.
