Troubleshooting Issues With A Locking Arm On A Reese M5 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

I have the OEM Reese 32K M5 for a 2020 F350, the head has a locking prawl that is moved when the king pin is pushed in, this locking prawl seems to have some play in the pivoting point, which leads to a high level of frustration in getting the prawl to move enough and allow the latching handle to be lock with the safety pin. The jaws are locking around the pin, but this prawl does not always move all the way. The pivot point is a expanding rivet that has a bit of play. Is there a way to replace the rivet kit from Reese? and prawl or are there shops that do repairs on Reese receiver units?

Inner replacement parts for trailer hitch heads are typically not available because there's a lot of liability involved so the only option would be to replace the entire head of your Reese M5 # RP68FR with part # RP30892. You could try reaching out to Reese directly to see if they would send you replacement parts, but they'll likely tell you to just replace the entire head.
