Correct Orientation/Position For Mounting A Derale Transcooler
Question:
Regarding your aftermarket transmission oil cooler, does it matter which line hooks up to which connection? Should the lines on the oil cooled be facing the side or the bottom when mounting?

Expert Reply:
When installing a transmission cooler like the Derale # D13503, it does not matter which fitting is used for the inlet our outlet. The cooler will work exactly the same either way. It can be mounted in any orientation also. You just have to choose which position will make the installation easier or look more professional on the vehicle. It does not have to face a certain direction to function properly as the fluid will make its way to the other side of the cooler regardless of how it is positioned.
