Does the weather strip in the bottom of the screen door need to be removed prior to installation?

The weather strip does not need to be removed prior to the installation of the # MR38RR. As long as you have the required gap of at least 3/8" between the threshold and the bottom of the door it is unlikely the weather strip will cause a problem. If you find that the door is not closing properly following installation you made need to trim it slightly for a better fit.

The correct steps for your 2022 Forest River Surveyor Legend 276BHLE are the #MR38RR. These are designed for an entry height of 34" -36". The #MR58RR is for 30" - 33-1/2" so they will be too short.
