Quiet RV Air Conditioner Recommendation for Non-Ducted Application
Question:
I am looking for a rooftop AC unit 13.5K BTU or better, low profile and quiet. The quieter the better. What is the quietest both standard size and low-profile size of that cooling capacity? This is a new installation on curved roof, so that is important to note.

Expert Reply:
Advent AC units are considered by most RVers to be the most quiet and the most efficient so that would be the brand I would recommend. Since you have a non-ducted roof setup currently the best option is the Advent Air part # ACM135C. This is also 13,500 btu like you said you need as well.

The description for the optional heat strip says that it will warm up on a frosty morning. That doesn't really tell me how powerful it is. If, for example, I park my insulated RV somewhere and it goes down to 20 degrees, is this heat strip sufficient to raise the temperature of a small, insulated (100 sq ft) RV to 68 degrees? Or will it just warm things up 5-10 degrees?
