Recommended Slide Out Awnings For A 2020 Flagstaff Classic Super Lite 8529CSB 5th Wheel
Question:
Hi, i have a 2020 flagstaff 8529csb fifth wheel and I am trying to find a slide topper for the awning side of my fifth wheel, they say that there isnt enough clearance. Two slides are 12' and the one bedroom slide is 7 1/2'. My problem is the one on the awning side, it is close to the awning.

For the 7-1/2' bedroom slide out you'll need the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning - 91" # LCV000168106. For the 12' slide out without obstructions nearby you'll need the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning - 144" # LCV000177334. For the slide out with the awnings in the way you'll have to switch down to a smaller size to avoid any clearance issues with the awning to the right of it and the arms of your slide topper.
The arms sit approximately 2.5" out so with the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning - 139" # LCV000168328 you would have 5" of clearance of clearance to split between both sides, which should allow the arms to clear. You can also slightly adjust the awning to sit closer to the left slide to help provide a bit more clearance on the right.
The next issue is with the space for the mounting bracket and the awning that's mounted to the slide out. You'll most likely have to mount the inner brackets up on the flange but will need to be careful to not go too high, otherwise your mounting screws with hit the side of the trailer instead of the gap between the slide out box and trailer wall. Try hold the inner and outer brackets connected up to the space first to see if there's enough room before going this route though. If you do have to place them on the flange I recommend grinding the tips of the screws down a bit once they're in to prevent them from poking holes in your wiper/bulb seals as the box retracts in. You'll also want to use use butyl tape # AL28FJ on the back of the inner brackets to prevent water from leaking in through the screws.
