Solution to Lower Initial Amperage Draw of Furrion RV AC Unit

Question:

Just installed a new Furrion 15,000 BTU from etrailer. It will kick my 20 amp breaker on start up several times, then will work excellent till I turn it off and turn it back on then it will kick it off again! before it kicks the breaker it is pulling 50 amps. when it operates and stays on it pulls 14 to 15 amps.

Expert Reply:

50 amps is pretty high but for a high powered AC unit like what you have it's not out of the norm. The easiest solution would be a SoftStartRV part # SSR54FR which reduces the initial amperage draw by 70 percent. This will prevent the breaker from tripping.
