Demco Wireless Coachlink Range and Parts Needed For Flat Towing a 2023 Ford Maverick

Question:

Stay-N-Play Duo with Coachlink - Any complaints of Coachlink Signal ? I have a 2023 Ford Maverick and I have begun picking parts for the towing behind our motorhome. From the dash top to the engine by of the Maverick, I am estimating 45 feet of signal transmission distance. I know a common complaint with some wireless signal accessories, such as the Coachlink, is the loss of transmission between the signal device and the receiver. Do you have any experience braking signal loss, or any frequency of customer complaints of such? Ive tried sifting through the comments and ratings but no luck so far.

The Demco SBS Wireless Coachlink # SM99945 which comes with the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR has a range of roughly 1/2 a mile without obstructions. While having the walls in your camper does restrict the range we have never encountered any issues even when connecting on motorhomes well over 40' long.

For your 2023 Ford Maverick I recommend using the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # RM97RR with the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676. You will need to measure the height of the receiver on your RV motorhome to determine if you will need a high-low adapter to keep the bars within 3" of level. The baseplate will have a height of 15" on 225/60R18 tires. We have adapters like the 4" # RM-048-4 if your receiver is more than 3" or less than 7" from level to the baseplate.

The Roadmaster Accessory Kit # RM-9284-2 contains the wiring, lube, cover, storage bag and locks for the connections. I also recommend installing the Charge Line # RM-156-25 to ensure your battery stays charged when towing.
