I have a 1996 dodge dakota truck with a factory installed 7 wire rv style trailer connector.will this unit adapt to my vehicle without cutting and splicing wires? I am looking for something that simply plugs into wiring harness.

Yes, the Curt 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connector, # C57100, will work as a replacement for your factory installed 7-way trailer connector without requiring any splicing or cutting. You will simply unhook the rectangular connector from your existing 7-way connector and plug it into the back of the Curt connector.

The actual 7-way socket on the Curt connector will be larger than your current 7-way connector, so it comes with its own mounting bracket so you can mount it to your truck.
