Replacement Spindle For 3,500LB Trailer Axle Under A 2012 Forest River Flagstaff 228BH Tent Trailer

Question:

Hello, I have a 2012 Forest River Flagstaff 228BH tent trailer. Ive had the outer bearing fail on the left hand side twice. This most recent time it left scratches and gouges in the spindle. From reading on your site, it looks like Ill probably have to replace the axle Ill need to replace the hub also. The sticker on the axle says serial number 044-50407-002-0424880-00026. It also says S/O number 50407. It says P/N 400701AD and it says T35AD 70/54BM 545ULE w/LTPP3. In the middle of the sticker it says 4TLF - AD - UL TAG T35 - 1AD RUN CAP #2750 Does any of that make sense to you in being able to help me find a replacement part? The axle spindles have the quick lube. Also the hub is a Dexter 5 bolt 8-247 Thanks

While we do not have a replacement axle which matches the dimensions listed on your axle tag, you should consider having a new Spindle # TRU77FR welded in place of your damaged one. I recommend having the spindle professionally welded to ensure it is on straight. According to your axle tag it is a 3,500lb axle with 2,750lb weight rating and 70" hub face length and 54" spring center length.

Replacing the spindle will allow you to use the same Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84546UC3 as long as the hub is not damaged. If the hubs and brakes need replaced we do have our Self-Adjusting Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA you can use with 2 of the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assemblies # 84546UC3.
