Does The RAS Suspension System Affect Ride Quality Of A Tacoma When Not Towing
Question:
Hi Kevin, That is very helpful. I’ll order it when I get home, thank you. Are you able to answer a question about the RAS suspension system? Will it make a difference in a vehicle not towing a trailer? We often use the truck on back roads, with a lot of gear. Much appreciated,

Expert Reply:
The RAS Suspension Systems essentially preload your leaf springs making them stiffer to prevent sag. This will affect your unloaded ride quality but not as negatively as some other compatible suspension enhancements for your Tacoma. These systems are super easy to adjust tension on so you could always lower the tension when unloaded if you weren't happy with the ride quality and then add more tension when it's time to haul.
If you have a 2WD Tacoma then you'll want the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS4514-SAT, for 4WD models you'll need part # RAS4511-T instead.
*Note* these models are not compatible with Pre-Runner Editions.
