How Many Amps Does Advent Air RV Air Conditioner ACM150 Use?

Question:

I would like to replace my Duo Therm Brisk Air 13, 500 BTU by Dometic with a Advent ACM150 -15,000 BTU. I notice there is a difference in AMPs between the Advent 13,500 BTU and the 15,000 BTU. Do I need to be concerned about it totaling 30 amps versus less amps of th 13, 500 BTU unit?

I am not quite sure where you're seeing 30 amps for the Advent Air # ACM150, but it has a total amp draw of 15 amps when running, with 12.4 amps being the compressor and the remaining 2.6 amps being the fan motor. This will be just fine at replacing your Duo Therm 13.5k BTU, and the wiring will be more than adequate for this power.

The only time the amps will be really different is with startup. It's not a bad idea to install a start capacitor like # ACMSCKIT if you're going to be powering the unit via a generator as it'll reduce starting watts, but if you're plugging into shore power you do not have to have this.
