Recommendation For Extension For 2019 Honda Pilot For Towing Boat That Doesn't Reduce Capacities
Question:
I have a 2019 Honda Pilot. The hitch tongue weight is rated at 500. My boat has a 300 pound tongue weight. Could I use an 8 inch extension?

I have a possible option for you, but due to adding another point an extension will reduce your vehicle's capacities by 50%, so you'd only be able to towing something with no more than 250lbs of tongue weight.
Instead your only option would be using an extra long ball mount such as the # 80232 which measures 15-3/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball hole, which should be quite a bit longer than your current ball mount.
Since this ball mount is not adding another connection point it will not reduce your hitches capacity, and its 600lb tongue weight and 6,000lb trailer weight rating is more than strong enough for your boat, though you'll need to stick to the lowest rating between your 2019 Honda Pilot, Its trailer hitch, and this ball mount.
You'll also need a hitch ball, either the 1-7/8" # 19260 or the 2" # 40038 to match the coupler on your trailer.
