How to Add Brakes to a 2018 Criterion Single Axle Cargo Trailer

Question:

I have a 2018 criterion single axle cargo trailer that I’d like to upgrade to electric brake axles. It has a Lippert axle M-0039 currently. The ID string reads LCI35-SI-82.5-70–NOSP-US-L-545-7242 the S/N is S003579071. 3500lb axle. What is the proper axle for me to upgrade to or is this not worth the effort? Respectfully,

I do have an option for you but you don't need a new axle to add electric brakes. Instead, you will just need to replace the idler hubs with hubs/drums and add backing plates along with a few other items for the trailer. I have attached a list of these components below.

Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA
Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K
Junction Box # 3375601101
7-Way Connector # H20046
Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit part # 20400
