Why is Trailer Light Shorting
Question:
My Optronics AL91AB seems to be shorting out when the lens is plugged into the base. The single power bullet plug is insulated through the hole of the base mount, but when I attach the lens, it shorts. Why is this happening? I have two new lights, and both are doing this. Is the lens plug touching the silver ring that is connected to the grounding mount?

Thank you for your purchase directly from etrailer of the Thinline LED Clearance and Side Marker Light # AL91AB, we appreciate that. The reason the light you purchased from us is shorting out is due to a bad ground, just like you said, touching the silver ring.
