An E5 error for an Atwood 1361 AC unit would indicate a compressor overload. Most likely the start capacitor for your fan is shot and needs to be replaced and without the fan blowing your compressor is cooling air and having nothing to force it down so it's probably freezing up the coils, which is making the compressor work even harder.

There are replacement fan start capacitors on the market but we don't currently offer them and there are certain parameters listed on them that we'd need to match. These capacitors store enough energy to electrocute yourself so you should not be completing any repairs on the unit unless you're a qualified technician.

If a qualified technician verifies that the unit as a whole is shot then you would need to replace the entire system since Atwood doesn't have plug-and-play compatibility with other brands and finding just the rooftop unit for an Atwood system is hard since they went out of business. Personally, I would get away from that brand completely and go with a system like Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR85PV. This system will work with your ducted trailer and comes with a new wall thermostat that's a bit more modern.
