How to Pick out the Correct Replacement Knurled Bolt for a Dexter Braking Assembly

Question:

My trailer came with brakes. The backing plates have the knurled bolts in them. The knurl seems to have to have lost its press fit. Will these bolts possibly replace that knurled bolt? 2009 Casita with Dexter 3500 lb

It's possible, however when replacing knurled bolts it's best to replace the bolt with another knurled bolt. In order to determine which replacement bolts you're going to need, you're going to need to remove one of the bolts and measure the length of the bolt, the knurl diameter, and take note of the bolt size (i.e 1/2"-20).

For instance, if you needed a 1/2"-20 x 1-5/8" bolt, with a knurl diameter of .542", then the Replacement Mounting Stud for Dexter 5 on 4-1/2 Hub and Drum for Hydraulic Brakes # T0508101 would be what you'd want.

If you are able to take some of these measurements and get back to me, I'd be happy to see if we can find you something.
