Does Sealant Need to be used to Install New TPO Roof Membrane?

Question:

In the LaSalle PVC installation video, you state to fill anywhere that wood pulled up on removal. But, you do not recommend doing it in the Superflex TPO installation video. Some very thin pieces of the partical board pulled up when we removed the old roof. Do we need to fill those spots with anything before installing the Superflex TPO?

That's going to depend entirely on your roof and when you go to peel off the old membrane how much wood comes up. the sealant used in the install video # 344270341437-1 for the LaSalle Bristol XTRM PVC RV Roof Membrane - White # 3441700534142711435 is just used to smooth/even out the surface the new membrane is going onto.

You're likely going to need to use some because it's going to be impossible to peel off the old membrane without pealing up some wood.

There isn't anything different between the two membranes other than the size, and one being made from PVC and one being made from TPO
