Does Curt 56170 4-Way on 2014 Honda Pilot Need Replacing
Question:
I installed CURT 56170 Harness on 2014 Honda Pilot. Hooked up to a trailer and everything was working fine. Checked all brakes and turn signals and everything was working. The next day, the right turn signal and right brake stopped working on the trialer. I noticed that the green wire on trailer side had frayed/broken so I assumed that was a problem with the trailer. The next day I hooked up to a completely different trailer with good wires, and Right turn signal and right brake would not work on that trailer either. Now seems to be issue with vehicle harness. Could the damaged wires on the first trailer have damaged my new harness? Could It have damaged the wiring up in to my vehicle or will I just need to replace the harness?

Expert Reply:
A damaged wire on your trailer should not have any affect on the wiring of your 2014 Honda Pilot so I do recommend replacing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56170.
