Can Larger Tires Be Put On a 2005 Viking 1906 Pop-Up Camper To Allow For BAL Leveler?
Question:
I bought a used 2005 Viking 1906 pop up. I want to be able to use the BAL Leveler from my previous pop up, but the tires are 12 inch. BAL says the tires should be at least 13 inch. Can 13 inch tires be put on this pop up?

To move to a ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" White Wheel # AM3S120 from a 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Wheel # AM30620 you are going to need a suspension lift for your 2005 Viking 1906. The tires are going to be 3-1/2" taller and 1.8" wider so you will need to measure as well to ensure you will have the clearance needed even with a lift. I was unable to find what kind of suspension your trailer will have come with but you are either going to need a Lift Block like the Torflex Lift Kit # K71-707-01 which gives 2-5/8" of lift or the Lift Kit # LC87120 for double eye leaf springs which can give you a 2-1/4" lift.
I recommend checking out the Andersen Camper Wheel Chock and Leveler # AM3604 as this will work with your current wheels and tires and can raise your camper from 1/2" to 4" if needed on one side. This will be a lot easier than modifying your suspension to install larger wheels and tires to ensure you can use the BAL leveler.
