Will A B&W Companion Slider Fit With A Toolbox In The Bed Of A 2001 Ford F-250 Short Box
Question:
I have a 2001 F-250 short box. I have a toolbox in the front of my pickup. What is the length of the hitch from the center of the ball mount forward? I need to see if the slider hitch will fit. In other words, how much hitch frame is there in front of the ball mount. Thank you kindly,

Expert Reply:
The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W has a 15" measurement from the rear of the hitch to where the it mounts in the Turnoverball hitch. You would have to either remove your toolbox when you want to tow or switch out the hitch for a fixed style and replace the pin box on your trailer with a rotating pin box in order to still have a safe amount of turning clearance.
This option is quite a bit more expensive than just taking the toolbox out so if you're interested in it then let me know and we can start figuring out the correct fit for your trailer.
