I recommend going with the Curt Class V XD hitch for your 2005 Chevy Suburban 2500:
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class V XD # C15324
This will fit with the canister but you'll need to lower the canister to install the hitch.
Then for wiring I recommend the Hopkins 4-Way/7-Way kit:
- 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket # HM40975
This connects to the existing wiring on your Suburban via the US CAR plug at the back - just remove it from your current wiring and plug it into the back of this kit. Then the only thing left to do is install the mounting bracket to the Curt hitch and you're good to go!
