Landing Gear With Motor For 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
Does this Bulldog BD500162 landing gear come with 2 gear boxes, and if so can it be made into dual electric jacks by adding electric motors horizontally to the gear box shafts? If so what motors and parts are needed to do this? I have seen a Bulldog system with motors directly attached to the top of leg and this would be too tall for my application. As far as all the landing gear manufactures is this a high quality one or are other ones better? My trailer is a Glendale Titanium model with Atwood Super Duty landing gears with the dual electric operation. Apparently they dont make these anymore or parts, as one of mine has the screw to gear shaft pins work out. Cant get new parts or grooved replacement pins to see if I can make the pin fit tighter so that it wont work itself back out. Thanks for any info.

While the Bulldog landing gear you mentioned can be used with a motor, for a higher quality go with the Landing Gear Set - 36-1/2" Lift - 8,000 lbs # RVLG-8000 with 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC142178 and Switch # LG-145236.
Landing gear only comes with one gear box shaft for a single motor; the type of landing gear with two motors are different styles, so you'd have to go with the single motor.
