Do You Have to Drill Into Trailer Frame to Install Snap-Up Brackets on Reese Strait-Line WDH
Question:
I am installing the Reese Strait Line Dual-Cam RP66084 and have a question on the snap-up bracket. The directions talk about installing a self-tapping screw/bolt but it is never shown done on any of the installation videos. Is this a requirement or just additional strength?

There are two methods for attaching the frame brackets that come with the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System part # RP66130.
The first method is the easiest and most common, this simply involves using the set screw to secure the frame brackets to the frame. The other method is optional but offers more support, it entails drilling a hole into the frame and securing the brackets with self-threading bolts.
