Recommended Bike Rack For Carry Two 65LB E-Bikes On a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 Camping Van

Question:

I have a Mercedes Benz 3500 Sprinter van conversion. I have a spare tire hanging off the drivers side back door. I am looking for an e-bike rack that will allow me open access to the doors of the van. I need a rack that will work with e-bikes with front fenders and one bike is a step-thru meaning there is no top bar. The bikes are Evelo Galaxy SL and Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0. Weight for each bike is in the 65 pound range. Please let me know your thoughts on a good hitch mount bike rack. The Thule EasyFold 2 XT Bike Platform Rack # TH903202 doesnt look like it will work on the step thru bike. Thank you for the help.

I recommend using the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y36FR paired with the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender # Y02483 for your Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500. The BackSwing will give you additional 14" of length to clear the rear tire on your door, and it swings open 90 degrees to the passenger side allowing you access through your rear doors.

The OnRamp # Y36FR is capable of carrying 2 e-bikes up to 66lbs each. It includes a ramp for easy loading and unloading which secures to the rack so no worry about leaving it at home or in a different vehicle. With your Evelo Galaxy SL being a step though you may be able to attach the mounting arm to the seat post otherwise you will need an Adapter Bar # Y02531 to mount to the mounting arm and hold the bike in place.
