Replacement OEM Bolt Lock for Extang EnCore Hard Tonneau Cover For 2019 Ford F-150
Question:
I bought a 2019 from carvana today. It has this cover. The key inside the fob will not lock the lock. It is presently unlocked. Is there a way to reprogram the lock with my key? If I buy a new lock, how do you program or use my key to work on new lock? I’m hoping I can use this lock and somehow get my key to work on it. Thanks!

For the Extang Encore tonneau cover on your 2019 Ford F-150, there is not a way to reprogram the lock, it can only be coded once. What you need is a replacement, the Replacement OEM Bolt Lock for Extang EnCore Hard Tonneau Cover # EX28620152-28.
To use your key on a new lock, do the following, per Extang:
Fully insert the key into the lock cylinder before starting to rotate key (NOTE: Do not pull left/right on key). While maintaining FULL key insertion, rotate key clockwise until it hits a stop point (approximately 3/4 of a turn). Lock/Unlock coded key five times to ensure lock coding is set. Remove key and close lock. Cylinder is now fully coded and ready for everyday use with two key out positions. Remove yellow plastic clip from bottom of lock cylinder and discard — if equipped.
