Comparing TUFFPLATE and Z-Max Finishes on 1.3K Hand Winches

RE boat trailer winches. 1300 pound versions. Which is the more durable finish - the Dutton TUFFCOAT or Fulton Zmax.

When comparing the 1.3K Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL14362 and the 1.3K Fulton Single Speed Winch # F142104, I recommend the Fulton option because it has a long salt spray rating at 600 hours for the Z-Max.

Aside from the manufacturer and coatings these winches are pretty identical with weight rating and warranty.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
