Availability of Hub With 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Patter for 2k or 3.5k Axle

Question:

Good afternoon. I am looking to get one of your axle and spring kits. I do not need the wheels and tires. Likely a 2k or 3.5k kit. Perhaps something with a 5 or so spring center. Building a small expedition/overland style trailer so I dont need much weight rating. My question is, would it be possible to get something like that with 6 on 5.5 hubs? Please advise if this is possible and if so what pricing would look like. Thank you in advance.

There are hubs that have a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt patter that will fit a 3,500 lb axle. You won't find any for a 2k axle. The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-35-K and Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K both have a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. For brakes you can use the # AKEBRK-35-SA.

If you only want idler hubs you would use the # AKIHUB-655-35-K or # AKIHUB-655-35-EZ-K instead. All of these hubs use # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearings commonly found on 3,500 lb axles.

I'm not sure what axle length you are looking for, but for a 3,500 lb axle we have an 89" # e38GR and a 95" # e68GR. You will need to choose 3,500 lb leaf springs and a hanger kit appropriate for your application. I have attached a link for both below.

Another option to consider is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR3500S05. This system will fit any trailer width so you won't have to worry about axle length. You also won't have to worry about leaf springs since this includes the suspension. The Timbren is perfect for an expedition/overland style trailer since it has maximum clearance without an axle beam and each side works independently. The same hubs/hub and drum assemblies will fit the # ASR3500S05.
