Recommended Replacement Option For Dometic Duo-Therm AC On A 2008 Gulf Stream Tour Master Motorhome

Question:

Popular model. I too have a Dometic Duo-Therm 620426.331. It appears the control box is integral to the unit. [Physically attached to the roof unit and hard-wired to the compressor, fan motor, capacitor, 110 v, etc.] Theres no sign of a six-pin connector. Im thinking this is an early unit... 2006 or earlier.] I wanted to replace the control unit with a digital one and a new thermostat but it doesnt support it. What are my options to replace this apparently 17-year-old unit?

If you're replacing the controller you would want to replace the entire system. Your system's rooftop unit hasn't been confirmed to work with a different controller and with yours not having a 6 or 9-pin connector you'd have no way of connecting it to a new controller.

For this I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ADV64FR so that you can have a digital wall thermostat. I do recommend also picking up the start capacitor # ACMSCKIT to help lower the starting wattage needed to start the unit. This stores energy to help it kick on and prevents a huge draw that can cause power surges in your trailer. It's definitely helpful when you're at a campground during the summer and everyone's AC's kick on at the same time overloading the power grid and dropping voltage to each site.
