Solutions To Add More Clearance For Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Jack Legs

Question:

We have a 2022 Heartland Torque with the Lippert 3.0 Leveling System. We are constantly hitting the jacks. Weve had to replace two jacks so far. One time I hit a pothole about an inch and a half deep, and the other was a curb face about 6 inches tall. From my understanding, the jacks are supposed to have 7 inches of clearance. Ours has about 5 3/4 inches of clearance. The RV repairman says they sit too low, and the brackets they used during pandemic construction are not the ones they usually would have used during the building process. The jacks are mounted as high as possible on the brackets. What other options would I have to get the jacks a couple of inches higher off the ground? Im looking for affordable solutions. Oh, and Heartland refuses to replace the brackets, so thats not an option.

I don't know what type of brackets were used on your 2022 Heartland RV Torque 5th Wheel but we carry the # LC349975, which can really only be installed at one height since they have lip that butts up against the bottom of the I-Beam.

If clearance is the main issue here then another solution would be to raise the height of the trailer to gain a bit more clearance for the jacks. This can be done by replacing the leaf spring hangers with longer ones, using a correct track system # RR23QX, or using an over under conversion kit like # K71-385-00 if your leaf springs sit below the axles.

The # RR23QX will raise your trailer's height by 1-1/4" or 2-1/4" depending on how you install it and the # K71-385-00 will raise your trailer's height by the diameter of the axle as well as the leaf spring stack. If you're just wanting a couple of inches then I recommend the # RR23QX. If you're wanting close to 5" lift then you'll need part # K71-385-00. New Hangers can be whatever size you want (within reason) but require welding so it's not a popular option.

Personally, I'd just go with the Correct Track # RR23QX since you're only needing 1-1/4".
