SAE Rated Safety Hooks for Safety Chains and Cables

Curt makes a similar hook thats also rated at 5k lbs 81288, but the diameter is 9/16 instead of 7/16. Any idea why theres this difference?

The 7/16" Curt Hook with Spring Loaded Safety Latch item # C81277 is rated SAE Class II. The 9/16" item # C81288 hook is rated SAE Class III.
