Troubleshooting Kwikee Revolution Series RV Steps That Don't Function Properly
Question:
I bought this Revolution series step last summer and it quit working on my last trip. It did happen after driving so road debris is a possibility but nothing appears broken. It worked erratically and then stopped halfway out and I hear no sounds nor even a jiggle now. I had replaced the exact same step because it was quite rusty and installed the old step again and it works just fine so its not the coach wiring. Do I just have to swap parts until I find out why the new one isnt working?

If your replacement step # LC3725791 was working erratically then it most likely is either a bad ground or a door magnet issue. I recommend starting by checking the ground connection as this is the simplest place to start. From there you'd be looking at replacing the door magnet.
There's quite a few different magnets to fit different door styles with the internal switch being wired either normally open or normally closed, and if you use the wrong door magnet with the step it will do all kinds of wonky things. Your Revolution series step requires a normally open door magnet, but I'll need to know the style of your door magnet to find the correct replacement to fit the same way with your door. If you want to send in some pictures of your current magnet switch then I can find the replacement.
