Trailer Hitch Recommendation for the 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis
Question:
Is this hitch the Curt P/N 12130 made for the 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis, or is there another P/N I should be looking at?

We have several hitches available for your 2010 Mercurt Grand Marquis. I have included a link to the options that we offer for your reference. The Curt # C12130 that you mentioned is not considered a fit for your 2010, it was a fit from 1992-2009.
Of the hitches that are confirmed as a fit for your I recommend a Class III option like the # 41116. This hitch offers a 2 inch receiver that is compatible with a wide range of towing products, and a hitch accessories.
If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in the ballmount kit # EBMK4EL that includes an extra long ball mount and a Convert-A-ball interchangeable ball system, and a pin and clip. Please check out the helpful article that I have also linked that will explain how to determine the correct rise or drop ballmount for your towing needs, if this kit does not work for you.
For wiring you can use the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Wiring Kit # 119250KIT. This will be a universal hardwire installation on your vehicle that does not require splicing into current wires.
Before towing, please check the towing capacity of your Grand Marquis and compare that to the towing capacity of the hitch, and components of your towing system and make sure that you comply with the lowest rated component of the system. Your towing capacity can be found in either your owners manual or by checking with your local dealership.
I have included links to the parts referenced above, a couple of videos, and several helpful articles for your reference.
