Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2019 Shasta Phoenix 5th Wheel

Question:

I have a 2019 Shasta Phoenix 29RLS Fifth wheel. It came with an 1 1/4” RV mounted receiver. This unit looks like a pre manufactured towing setup. There are mounting brackets welded to the frame and the receiver bolts to the frame brackets. This receiver has a 150 lb weight limit and moves up and down when using a 2 bike rack. I would like to be able to use an ebike rated bike carrier and be able to switch to a generator carrier for my Honda 3000i total weight with everything should be about 200 lbs. That is what I’m looking for. I can take a picture tomorrow in the daylight.

I believe we have exactly what you're looking for, for your 2019 Shasta Phoenix 5W!

Check out the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs # 13703.

This is an adjustable RV hitch that can fit a variety of frame widths, specifically 22" to 72" wide and has a maximum tongue weight rating of 350-lbs so you will be able to carry your generator an e-bike carrier.

In order to determine if this hitch will fit your 5W, you are going to just need to measure from the outside of the left frame member to the outside of the right frame member, as well as the distance from the hitch mounting flange to the top of the receiver tube; this will be the measurement for the drop the hitch has.

As long as the first measurement you took falls between that 22" to 72" range, and the underside of the trailer's frame members to the lowest point of the trailer's bumper is less than the 3 inches, you'll be all good to go.

I have included an installation video for you to check out as well.
