4.80/4.00-8 Replacement Tire Recommendation for Higher 81 MPH Speed Rating
Question:
I have a Piggbyback XL trailer I tow behind a motorcycle. I need a 81 mph tire. Stock size is 4.80/4.00-8. What is the closest size, to my stock tire, that gets me a 81 mph speed rating.

For your application I recommend checking out the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 205/65-10 - Load Range C # AM1HP52 which has the 81 mph speed rating you're looking for, has a section width of 8.3", and an overall diameter of 20.5". This is significantly larger than your current tires so you'll likely run into some clearance problems, but all of the tires that are more similar to the size that you have are only rated for 65 mph.
With this tire size we have a few wheel options and bolt patterns they are available with so I've linked our selection for you to filter through if this is still something you're pursuing.
Please note for clearance you want at least 4" above the tire tread and then 2" from the inner sidewall to your trailer frame so your tires aren't being worn down by other parts of your trailer.
Attached is a review video of the tire I recommended above for you to check out.
