Will SeeLevel Work on Schedule 40 PVC Pipe

Question:

I have a tank that is a 12 inch piece of transparent, schedule 40 PVC pipe, with caps on both ends, etc. I am looking for a way to measure the level of this tank so that I can open a valved on the bottom to let it drain. The content of the tent will be water. I have the following questions: A Will the SeeLevel sender see through schedule 40 PVC, its about 1/8 of an inch or so thick? B What signals does the SeeLevel sender actually send? I would be receiving and interpreting these signals with a micro-computer which in turn makes the decisions for emptying and cleaning the tank, so I have NO use for a typical monitoring device, unless it can forward the signals. Thanks!

I reached out to SeeLevel who said the SeeLeveL Sensor for RV Holding Tank Monitor # SE78VR will work on schedule 40 PVC pipe but it has to be at least 3 inches in diameter.

They also said didn't specify the exact signal type but said it would not work with a micro-computer and would only work with one of their monitors like the SeeLeveL RV Holding Tank Monitor # SE94VR.
