Can I convert a 14k tilt trailer from slipper to double eye springs?

Yes, you can change your 14k trailer's slipper springs to double eye springs; you'll need new springs, of course, but also new hangers. So you'll have to have your old hangers cut off and the new ones welded on.

You'll need to take some measurements to determine the correct replacement hangers, which should really be the same length as your current hangers. For example, I assume you have a tandem axle trailer and all the hangers are 3-1/4" tall you can use the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double Eye Springs - 3-1/4" Tall Front/Center/Rear # APT5.

Then you'll utilize new double-eye springs, with the correct ones depending on the placement of the hangers as well as your axle capacity. I have added numerous links below to help articles as well as our selection of springs and hangers for when you have the measurements you need.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
