Recommended Ducted RV Range Hood For A 1986 Pilgrim Truck Bed Camper
Question:
Kevin, I specifically referenced a question about a ducted unit. You referred me to a ductless unit. You miss the point of having a ducted unit which is very important for such a small camper. Depending on the time of year. When using a propane burner stove, a lot of heat is generatednot just for the food being cookedbut also in the enclosed space. In fact, if you are camping in a warm region AZ. as I do in the winter and early spring, the stoves heat can easily make the ambient air too hot. Forcing more BBQs outside? Thus, I wish to have a unit that not only sucks out unwanted smoke but also dumps hot air outside. A ductless unit would be useless for that purpose. Capiche? Thanks for following up PS. And yes I am prepared to install a unit requiring cutting a hole through the side and BTW, I need the outside cover to go with the range hood unit.

I understand the difference between ductless and ducted range hoods why you'd want the ducted to be able to exhaust the air/fumes out of your camper. The reason I gave you a ductless option was simply because you stated you didn't have anything currently, which would mean there's no duct for the range hood to vent through.
Since you're ok with cutting into the wall and building your own duct you'll still have the same options as far as color/style goes:
Black # VE38SR
Black With Stainless Steel # VE98SR
You'll also need an exterior wall vent, of which we have two options white # V2111-13 or black # V2111-55. You'll definitely want to use some butyl tape # AL28FJ over the mounting holes in the inside of the vent and non-sag sealant # 344270341437-1 around the outer edge of the vent to form a watertight seal and protect your camper. The collars on these vents are 1-3/4" in depth but you can trim them down a bit if your wall isn't thick enough to accommodate that size.
