Are Firestone Air Springs Better Than Timbrens To Offset The Load Of Hauling A Motorcycle
Question:
I installed a Mighty Hauler on my Class 5 hitch. I am carrying my Harley with it. I added an extra 1000# of carrying load. I bought Timbren TFRF53A to help out the load. The rear suspension s when I pickup the bike by a couple of inches. My question: If I purchase the Firestone Air helpers #F2170 will I be able to raise the the rear up to make it level again? and can I transfer the the Timbren to the front axle with just different brackets?

The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2170 will definitely help you level your 2011 Coachmen Encounter 37TZ back out with it's 4,800lb capacity. These air springs have a psi rating from 5 all the way up to 100 psi so that you can fine tune the output of the bag to match the added weight of your Harley and easily lower back down to prevent a stiff ride when travelling without it.
Note: The # F2170 requires the distance from the outside of the frame to the inside of the tire to be at least 8". If you do not have at least 8" then let me know and we can look into alternative options without this restriction.
I do highly recommend adding on an on-board air compressor as well to make inflating/deflating the bags as easy as possible. For this I recommend Air Command Compressor System # F2610. This system utilizes your smartphone instead of an old clunky gauge to easily get adjust your psi levels without having to run extra wire or drill any holes in your dash.
As for the Timbren's # TFRF53A, the brackets aren't sold separately so you would need to buy a whole new kit to properly fit the front of your motorhome. For the front you would need part # TFFF53B.
