How To Stop Snow Plow Headlights From Working with Brakes Lights on Vehicle
Question:
I have a Meyer Wingman snow plow that utilizes a 4 pin flat connector integrated into the plow wiring harness to illuminate and activate plow marker and blinker lights. The problem with their design is that the plow headlights contain the blinkers, and since the 4 pin flat trailer connector is used, these amber lights within the plow headlight illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed. Its strange and annoying to have brake lights on the front of the vehicle. I would like to prevent the plow blinker/amber lights from illuminating when the brake is pressed. I am planning on splicing this 4 pin plow connecter into my existing trailer wiring, so is wiring part #118158 in between my truck trailer connector and the plow 4 pin an ideal product to isolate the brake signal from the plow turn signals?

Helpful Expert Reply:
In order to stop the headlights on your snow plow from illuminating with the brake lights on your vehicle you would just need to make a simple adapter of your own with a converter or you could just splice the converter into either harness, either way I will give you parts for all three options below. I recommend making your own adapter so you aren't modifying any of the wiring on the vehicle or plow.
