What Is Needed To Install A Factory 7 Way Connector On My 2022 Ford Bronco
Question:
I was just gifted A Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller With Adapter but my 2022 Ford Broncos does not have a factory 7 way plug. I only have the 4 flat connector. What do I need to install the controller on my Broncos.

It sounds like you're in quite the predicament! I will explain below on what parts are needed to properly install your Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller # C27JR onto your 2022 Ford Bronco..
Since you already have the 4 flat connector already installed on your 2022 Ford Bronco there is only one more major thing you will need and that is The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 has a 4 flat connector at the end that will plug into your existing 4 flat that is already installed on your vehicle. When it is plugged in it will give you access to a 7-Way plug and a 4-flat plug. After plugged in there will be 4 additional wires that you will have to run the wiring functions are listed below:
The Black Wire - Will connect to the battery giving you a 12V power source.
The Blue Wire - Will connect to the out wire on the brake controller.
The White Wire - Will connect to the vehicle fame for ground.
The Yellow Wire - Is the auxiliary wire for 12V power, reverse lights, or reverse lockout
The wires above will splice into the Universal Wiring Adapter # C51515 that is included with The Curt Echo controller you received. After you have everything installed I would also recommend The Manual Override Button for Curt Echo Brake Controller # C83HR. Using this will let you activate your trailer brakes without using your smartphone in emergency situations.
I attached an installation video link below of the # ETBC7 being installed onto a 2019 Toyota Highlander but it will have the same installation process as your 2022 Ford Bronco. I also linked an installation video for the Curt Echo onto a 2021 Ford Bronco but it will also be the same as your 2022 Ford Bronco. If you need any further assistance please reach back out and I can help you with any future questions you may have.
