No Power to Lippert Electric Trailer Jack with Footplate LC285318
Question:
Hi, I have installed my power tongue jack and it acts like it has no power. I have it wired directly to the battery inside my enclosed 6x12 trailer. No light, no movement up or down. Do I need to try to ground it better? If so, which wire inside the unit is the ground for the unit? I know on the light it is yellow, but what about the up/down side? Thank you!

In regards to the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack with Footplate part # LC285318, the unit grounds through the mounting flange so in order to ensure a better ground you'll need to clean the mounting surface making sure it's bare metal. If the ground is good then be sure to check the in-line fuse on the power wire. If the fuse is bad then replace with the same style and size as what came equipped with the jack from the manufacturer. If you still don't have power then be sure the battery is at the appropriate voltage. The only other thing that could cause this issue is a faulty jack and in which case it would need to be replaced. It does however have a one year warranty so you may be covered.
