Recommended Hitch for a 2008 VW Touareg V6

Question:

Im having trouble finding a 7700 lb trailer hitch for my 2008 VW Touareg V6 not diesel. Most of the trailer hitches from Uhaul and many other places only go as high as 6000 lbs. Please advise where I can get a 7700 lb tow hitch so I can maximize my towing.

I checked with all of our vendors and even Volkswagen. For your 2008 Touareg we have the Curt Hitch item # C13315, but it tops out at 6,000 lbs and that cannot be increased with a weight distribution system.

There is no 7,700 lbs capacity hitch available for your 2008 Volkswagen Toureg. It looks like the only way to fully reach the 7,700 lbs towing capacity was to get a Toureg with a hitch installed from VW.

Since you plan on towing you will also need a ball mount kit item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
