Recommended Class I and II Bike Rack for a 45 lbs E-Bike

Question:

We have two ebikes we would like a new carrier for. Without batteries attached, one weighs at 44 pounds, the other at 33 pounds. In spite of the larger one being more than the 40 pounds, would it still be possible to use this rack for these two bikes?

I have a solution for you and a better bike rack altogether that will save you some money but the RockyMounts WestSlope Bike Rack for 2 Bikes item # RKY10222 has a capacity of 40 lbs per bike. No matter how much your second bike weighs you don't want to go over the listed capabilities of the rack. Doing so would violate the warranty and in the event of a parts failure you would not be protected from liability.

Instead I recommend using the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches item # HR200Z. This bike rack will also fit 1-1/4" - 2" hitch receivers that are Class I, II, or III.

The Trailer Rider bike rack has a 45 lbs capacity per bike. It includes a keyed-alike hitch lock and frame hooks that secure your bike and the rack from theft. You will want to mount your heavier bike closest to your vehicle.

I have linked a review video below.
