Does the Malone Profile18S Rooftop Cargo Box Have a Lot of Wind Noise and Reduce MPGs
Question:
I have a 2017 Subaru Outback with a sun roof and was wanting to know how much wind noise am I going to get installing a Malone Profile18B Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft? Also, any changes in my gas mileage that I should be aware of. Thanks

The Malone Profile18S Rooftop Cargo Box part # MPG910 is a great option for a 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon. It has a very aerodynamic shape and design so wind noise will be a minimum. That said, you will still be able to hear the box most likely but that is the case for pretty much any box. The decrease in mpg's would be barely noticeable.
Please note, a hitch cargo carrier like the GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches part # H00604 will have less wind noise and mpg loss than a rooftop cargo box.
