Recommended 4-Way Connector Add-On for LED Tail Light Strip on 2022 Ford Maverick

Question:

Trying to figure out why I need this part. This seems to be more for if you are pulling a trailer or something. I see the parts listed for the C59DR. I already looked inside the left taillight. I only see one connector that would accept the new product. Again, why??

I recommend picking up the Curt T-Connector # C59DR which tees in behind the tail lights on your 2022 Ford Maverick but has a power lead you run to the battery so the 4-Way connector is pulling power straight from the battery as opposed to potentially overloading the OEM wiring circuits.

This is a much safer option to splicing in connections because we aren't cutting into the factory wiring, the power is being pulled from the battery so the OEM circuits are unaffected, and the black module box on the Curt wiring further protects your OEM wiring from any kind of back-feeding.

The Curt wiring would essentially bypass the OEM wiring on your Maverick so you don't get those error messages as we've found those messages appear when smaller accessories are connected to the factory 4-Way connector. The accessory doesn't draw as much power as a trailer would so the vehicle has a hard time with these applications. Another solution would be to use the Load Resistor Kit for LED Turn Signals # DI34ZR but you'll need 2 kits so you can put a load resistor on each circuit, you'll need to use Heat Shrink Butt Connectors # DW05744-10 to have better protection on the splices you make to the LED light bar, you'll want to find a safe place to place the load resistors, and you'll be taking up your factory 4-Way so if you ever do tow a trailer you'll have to unplug the light bar. The Curt wiring might be a higher cost but it makes everything easier in the long run.
