When the MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-04500K is closed it would add 3-3/4 inches to the roof of your RV and when open it would add 12-1/2 inches.

The thermostat of the MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan #MA00-04500K that you referenced is integrated into the fan assembly base. You would not need to have a thermostat on your vehicle for this to wire into.

Actually the type of roof vent cover you need to attach to the vent cover brackets of your Maxxair 4951KS like part #MA00-04500K is the part #MA00-955003 which uses those brackets with the included cotter pins of the cover.
