Maxxair 4951KS Roof Vent Cover that Attaches to Brackets on Base Assembly

Question:

Would this rain cover work with the Maxxair 4951KS which already has the little 4 knobbies see pic? Would I need the hardware or will it attached itself directly to the knobbies while using the locking pin, of course? Thank you

Actually the type of roof vent cover you need to attach to the vent cover brackets of your Maxxair 4951KS like part # MA00-04500K is the part # MA00-955003 which uses those brackets with the included cotter pins of the cover.

I have this model fan 4951KS and bought the Maxxair MA00-955003 vent cover. However, the vent cover isn’t call enough. As the top of the vent when opened is too tall for the vent cover. Also, on my wall mount controller I only have open/close so I can’t not open it all the way. Which cover do I need that’s taller? Ideally in smoke color.

Unfortunately there's not really a larger option available that will allow you to open that lid all the way. MaxxAir actually states that some vents may not fully open, but as long as it's opened 50 percent or more the vent will still achieve max airflow.

@ChrisR I have this same fan, got this same cover and the lid when fully open hits the inside of the cover. We open the vent with a remote control and not manually. Would this hitting the inside of the vent cover harm the lid motor?

@David That's a good question. The vent cover not opening all the way will not have any negative impact on the motor or lifting mechanism, though.
