Replacement Options for 17' Long Bunk Boards for a 20' Pontoon Boat

Question:

My trailer needs new bunk boards. I have a 20 ft pontoon. There are 17 ft single boards on the trailer now. Is that the size I should replace them with? If so is there a 17 ft bunk available or do I use 2 8 or 9 ft bunks?

It is recommended to have bunk boards at least 50% of the length of your boat. But since you currently have 17' bunk boards, we would recommend that you replace your boards with that same length.

The longest complete bunk board that we have are the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards # CE27845 which are 7' long (this is 1 pair). So you would need to buy (2) of these and (1) of the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards # CE27800 (3') to get 17'.

Or what I would recommend is to get some 10' 2x4's from your local home improvement store and then you can cut them down to size and wrap them in CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting for Bunk Boards # CE11349 to complete the bunk boards. This would provide for the most solid option to get 17' bunk boards.
