Recommended Higher Speed Rating for 4.80/4.00-8 Trailer Tires on Small Trailer
Question:
Hi I have a little 4’x4’ trailer. I love the size but it’s max speed is 60 mph. I was wondering if I could put larger tires on it to up the speed? I can send photos of the existing tires if that helps. I unfortunately don’t know enough about them to explain in any helpful detail. Thank you!

I do have an option for you but it doesn't look like you have room for larger tires without modifications and that's how you'll obtain a higher speed rating. That said, we do offer wheel/tire combos in the size you need with a slightly higher speed rating of 65 mph, the Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel part # AM30060 is what I recommend.
Unfortunately, these smaller trailers are really not designed to be pulled at high speed.
